How We Work
Senior engineers, hourly terms, measured decisions.
Hourly time & materials, always
Every engagement is billed hourly — project work and staff augmentation alike. No fixed-price packages, no milestone pricing, no published rate card: scope, staffing, and timeline are agreed in an initial conversation, and you see where the hours go. When the work is done sooner than expected, you pay for less, not for the estimate.
Senior engineers do the work
The people who scope your engagement are the people who deliver it. We don't sell a partner and staff a bench — there is no bench.
Measurement before opinion
Elasticsearch and OpenSearch generate strong opinions and stronger folklore. We start from your cluster's own evidence — shard stats, query profiles, ILM explain output, judgment-list scores — and recommend from what it shows. When we assert something, you'll see the number behind it; when it depends, we say so and name the trade-off.
Vendor-neutral, and staying that way
We don't resell Elastic, AWS, or anyone else, and no vendor pays us for a recommendation. Elastic Stack vs OpenSearch, self-managed vs hosted: the answer comes from your workload, license posture, and team — and sometimes the honest answer is "stay where you are."
Reversible by default
Anything risky — a migration, a mapping overhaul, a cutover — gets a rehearsal on real data and a documented way back. Production changes land as steps you can undo, not events you survive.
Your team stays in the loop
We work in your repositories and your clusters, with your engineers alongside. Every engagement ends with your team able to operate, tune, and extend what was built — dependence on us is a failure mode, not a business model.
Straight answers
If the fix is a two-line settings change, we'll say so. If you don't need a consultant, we'll say that too — it costs us an engagement and earns us the next call.
